James
Kippen is a scholar-performer specializing in the music of North
India and, in particular, its drumming traditions. He has taught
ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, Canada, since 1990.
This updated site presents some of James Kippen's
work on the tabla and pakhavaj drums,
and it is intended as a resource for those interested in North
Indian drumming.
